Look up!

Now that Summer is here some of us may have some more opportunities for stargazing.    Just this week we witnessed Jupiter and Venus converging into a small area of our sky.  What an exciting event! And if you missed it you are out of luck.  This event is not supposed to happen again for about another 2000 years.

During one of my Astronomy courses a few years ago, the professor introduced us to Skymaps.com.  From this site, stargazing enthusiasts of all ages and walks can now ponder the night sky with some help.  And it’s free.

I came across this site again today while researching some (you guessed it) astronomy.  Visit the site and see for yourself.  Download the pdf and use the map to learn about your Universe.  Pretty cool stuff.

I am sure an investment in a telescope would open a whole new dimension of discovery for me.
